Friday 24th April – English and Art learning and HOMEWORK
Hello everyone! We have made it to the end of another online week!
Usually we would have our guided reading groups on Friday morning and we would have given you some homework on Thursday as well. So I would like you to do a reading homework that you will find on this link from BBC Daily Bitesize :
https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/articles/zb2k8xs
You do not need to send the answers in but I would like you to talk the answers through with someone and do the reading out loud activities.
Here is your Pobble365 link for today: https://www.pobble365.com/the-visitor
Please answer the questions and then for your Art Activity I would like you to design a robot and explain what it can do! Make it really creative and colourful! You can draw it on paper and post a photo or use the online painting tools in j2e. You could even make a robot out of junk materials or build a robot from lego or other building products.
Remember next week we will be posting your work on google classroom. If you have any problems getting started, you can class dojo message us on Monday morning.
Have a good weekend everyone!
Thursday 23rd April – English, Music and PE Learning
Good Morning everyone!
Today we have a Pobble365 to do, you can find it here: https://www.pobble365.com/
Answer the questions and improve the sick sentences.
As we usually have Music Assembly on Thursdays, I have found two interesting video clips for you to watch, you can watch them via this link:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/zcbkcj6/articles/z2mqw6f
It is all about Pulse and Rhythm. If you play an instrument, I hope you are managing to do lots of extra practice? If you don’t then why not play one of your favourite songs and see if you can drum along to the rhythm using household objects. Who needs a drum kit?!
Or perhaps you could try and learn to beat box?
After that, why not find a GoNoodle dance or workout to do? Or you could make up your own workout to a piece of music you like. I am sure you are all keeping active but dancing makes us feel happy as well as being good for us.
Here is my favourite Go Noodle dance! It really gets the heart racing.
Wednesday 22nd April English and Science Learning
Morning all,
When you have looked at today’s pobble365 picture, please read the story starter and then read the sentence challenge, you will have to write a list of any of the words you don’t understand, and then have a go at clarifying them.
The questions are quite tricky today, but have a go! Here is the link: https://www.pobble365.com/wilderness
SCIENCE
Later on, I would like you to have a look at the Science learning on Daily BBC bitesize home learning, Year 3, and have a go at the activities and quiz. Our new topic is LIGHT. Here is the link:
Tuesday 21st April English and Geography Learning
Good Morning everyone!
Today’s Pobble365 is very interesting and I am already looking forward to your answers to the questions. There are also some sick, boring sentences that need improving, use powerful language to make them more exciting.
I would also like you to look at this website:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/articles/zhtyvk7
Year 3 April 21st Geography Lesson
It is a lesson on using maps which is our Summer Term Geography topic.
This website is a good place for us to start.
After you watch the clips on BBC bitesize daily, see if you can draw a map of your local area, perhaps a map of how to get from your house to the shop, park or Malorees. Try and do it by yourself and then show it to a grown up and see how you did. They may be able to help you improve it!
Have fun mapping!
Monday 20th April English learning
Welcome back everyone, I hope you had some fun and rest over the two week holiday.
We are going to continue using Pobble365 this week. Here is Monday’s picture:
Have a go at answering the questions on the webpage
https://www.pobble365.com/watery-world
also the sentence challenge, where you have to add more information to sentences using brackets. Send them to me using the j2e webby pages as you were taught.
There is also a fun picture challenge where you can design your own perfect underwater home.
This week we are preparing to change from j2e to Google classroom. Once done, we can talk to one another face to face!
For this week though, check into j2e everyday, use the Summer Term tab and click on News for 3H.
Later this week, I will be sharing some Science work and also some fun work on our new topic of Geography.
Stay in touch here on on class dojo, happy learning everyone!
Year 3 message as we embark on our school holiday!
Dear All,
Firstly a big thank you for all your hard work over the last two weeks. It has been wonderful to see your work and to hear your audio messages.
While you are on holiday, keep reading and practising your Maths skills! Get outside as often as you can and enjoy playing with your family.
If you are stuck for something to do, there are lots of ideas in the black space bar at the top of the j2e webby page, marked Holiday activities. Try some of them if you can!
Stay safe and healthy and we should be able to see one another face to face early next term through the wonders of google classroom. We will explain that in more detail after the holiday.
I wish you all a very Happy Easter, best wishes from Ms Heath!
Friday 3rd April English and RE Learning
Good Morning All … it’s our last day of learning and then we all get a two week holiday and time for a rest and relax. Today there is a Pobble365 to do, please answer the questions and then have a go at extending the story.
It would be wonderful if you illustrate the story with a spectacular picture of a dragon.
This afternoon as part of your RE learning, you could have a look on Espresso at the 3 videos about Easter, then there is a quiz in the Activities section.
https://central.espresso.co.uk/espresso/primary_uk/subject/module/frontscreen/item1028383/grade2/index.html?source=subject-RE-KS2-RE-Resource%20types
Even if you don’t celebrate Easter, you may have taken part in an Easter Egg hunt, or know what one is. This holiday why not plan an Easter hunt around your house or garden. You have to plan a surprise at the end of the hunt, and make tricky clues to lead to the surprise. You could plan it with a brother or sister, and the surprise could be for a parent, or you could plan it all by yourself. Have fun!
During the holidays, keep reading, you can write stories, you can write a diary about how you are feeling, remember no-one has ever been in this situation before and when you grow up, you might want to look back and remember what it felt like to be going to school in your own house !
There is a j2e button at the top of the bar on the webby page full of Holiday Activities for you to try if you are bored. I especially like the never ending book activity, I really hope one of you has a go at making one!
